Jay Williams, MSW, is the Policy and Programs Coordinator for the Low Income Housing Coalition (LIHCA) of Alabama where he works to create more housing opportunities for Alabama’s most vulnerable populations. While he works for LIHCA, he also serves as the Board President for the Alabama Chapter of The National Association of Social Workers. Prior to his role at Collaborative Solutions, Jay acted as the Census State Coordinator for The Alabama Hard to Count Collaborative whose mission is to prevent an undercount of Alabama in the 2020 Census. Through The HTC Collaborative, he acted as a resource of information and helped to establish partnerships with other census advocates which resulted in showing how Alabama grew its population and diversity. Additionally, Mr. Williams has contracted with state and national nonprofits to build administrative capacity for DEI implementation internally, plan events, and to develop strategies for growth.
