Dr. Matthew Morton Research Fellow

Matthew Morton is one of the nation’s leading research experts on youth homelessness and youth empowerment. He has led multiple research projects on youth homelessness both across the country, including Voices of Youth Count, the nation’s most comprehensive research initiative to-date on youth homelessness, and several applied research projects to develop, improve, or evaluate cross-system prevention models, direct cash transfer programs, and youth homelessness systems and services. As a former Economist for the World Bank, Morton has also focused substantially on cash transfer research and interventions and has in-depth knowledge of the evidence-base and design considerations related to cash transfers and other types of social safety nets. Morton is trained in mixed-methods research and evaluation of complex interventions with a D.Phil. and M.Sc. in Evidence-based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation from the University of Oxford.
