Bio

Mary Riegert-Soyring is a first-generation descendant of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe and is a member of the heron clan.   With over 17 years of experience in Tribal government, Mary brings extensive knowledge of the issues of homelessness, especially those that affect Native people. Mary is very committed to providing equity for all our Native relatives and is currently serving as the coordinator for the Minnesota Tribal Collaborative to Prevent and End Homelessness.  

Mary holds and Associate of Applied Science in Human Resource Management and is currently pursuing the completion of her bachelor’s degree in Tribal Administration and Governance at the University of MN-Duluth.

Mary resides in in the community of Waubun MN located on the White Earth Reservation in Northwest MN, with her husband, Arnie and their dog, Uppy.  She is an extremely blessed grandmother of eight.  In her spare time, Mary enjoys reading, tending to her flowers, and spending time with her friends and family.
