Alissa Parrish has more than 13 years of experience in the homelessness field as a direct service provider, HMIS Lead, and HUD TA provider. In her role at ICF, Ms. Parrish works with communities to provide technical assistance often with a focus on HMIS and how it can be leveraged to support the entire homeless response system and the people the system serves. Ms. Parrish specializes in HMIS governance including privacy and security, policies and procedures, data quality management programs, and system monitoring and modeling; improving the quality of data in HMIS and analyzing data centered in racial equity that addresses inequities in the homeless response system; and supporting data-informed decisions through comprehensive system mapping and data literacy. Additionally, Ms. Parrish supports several of HUD’s initiatives in a project management/coordination role including the National Homeless Data Analysis Project (supporting HUD’s HMIS Data Lab and HMIS Data Standards processes), Community Workshops (supporting HUD’s peer-to-peer learning model), Data Workgroup (supporting HUD’s HMIS data efforts), and Regional Teams (supporting HUD’s nationwide regional TA structure).
