Josh Dean serves in Disaster Response for the Louisiana Housing Corporation. In his role, he is the agency's liaison with local, state and federal partners during disaster response and recovery efforts statewide. In the aftermath of Hurricanes Laura and Delta in 2020, he was instrumental in the state’s demobilization of non-congregate shelter efforts as a member of the Louisiana Balance of State Continuum of Care staff. He worked to connect people experiencing homelessness to coordinated entry access points, and subsequently to permanent housing providers, in the midst of disaster response and shelter movements. More recently during the response to Hurricane Ida, he was responsible for helping shape and inform the MASTT efforts of local and state evacuation shelters. He continues to support regional recovery efforts and advocates for the precariously housed in ensuring equitable access to recovery resources.
